Material Quality Coordinator

As a Material Quality Coordinator, you support the Material Quality team with internal or external testing, data entry, tracking and data management across various systems. You make sure the team’s tasks and deliverables are accomplished according to the seasonal calendar and production timelines. You coordinate cross functional alignments, meetings, and projects. You provide support to the team’s specialists in their day-to-day quality assessments and follow-ups. You support the approval of the first bulk yardage of new coloured materials by helping assess quality issues through gathering information, tracking, organizing and filing the physical samples.

**If you were a Material Quality Coordinator now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing**:
- Sending the seasonal material test plans to the suppliers and labs, and tracking to ensure timelines are met and the data is gathered according to our processes
- Administering manual data entry tasks and updating various trackers, flagging any failures and issues to the attention of the specialists for resolution
- Overseeing inbound and outbound test samples; coordinating reviews with cross-functional teams and specialists as required
- Championing the seasonal calendar to make sure the team’s tasks and deliverables are accomplished within the specified timelines
- Organizing, filing, and storing the test and defect samples; material quality library and keeping the QC card binders up to date
- Supporting the specialists in all administrative tasks as required
- Coordinating and tracking cross functional alignments, meetings, and projects
- Doing in house lab and wash tests as required, enabling quick assessment of samples
- Performing spectrophotometer measurements of the color shade samples
- Preparing reports, excel files and PowerPoints as/if needed.
- Supporting the team’s specialists in their day-to-day quality assessments and follow-ups
**Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future**:
- Supporting the color and quality specialists in reviewing and approving the first bulk yardage of new coloured materials, by receiving, organizing and preparing samples for review
- Collecting lab dips for seasonal color approval, and measuring bulk samples with spectrophotometer
- Reviewing lab test reports of seasonal test plans at Sales Rep Samples (SRS) and bulk stages and manual data entry
**Are you our next Material Quality Coordinator?**:
- You have a post-secondary degree, or the equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience in têxtile or apparel
- You have 1+ years’ experience in the apparel industry
- You have some experience or knowledge in the têxtile or apparel industry, or a quality control rule
- You have superior colour acuity (achieving a score of 16 or better on Munsell colour test)
- You have strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- You have excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- You are detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational skills
- You have a disciplined approach to prioritization and are able to effectively balance competing deadlines
- You have highly effective verbal and written communication skills
- You have strong time management and organizational skills
- You display flexibility and adaptability when faced with ambiguity and change
- You have the ability to effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
- You are goal driven with a results-oriented attitude.
