**Position Summary**:
Along with simply loving cars and connecting with people, we envision our future Fleet/Business Development Representative as someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit and will be motivated to succeed. Someone with experience at networking and building business with strong interpersonal skills.

If you have previously owned your own business or held a senior management position and can be self-managed and work independently, this job could be ideal for you. The Fleet/Business Development Representative will be responsible for calling on potential fleet accounts for service. This could be a full-time or part-time position and would report directly to the General Manager and Fixed Operations Manager.

**Management/Business Skills Required**:

- Self-starter, work well independentl
- Knowledge of sales procedures, processes, and follow-up
- Ability to effectively relate to customers of all backgrounds and to focus on customer enthusiasm
- Having an existing base of contacts/network of small, medium and large sized businesses would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of company products (prices, models, series, options, warranties, vehicle maintenance, colors, standard equipment, specifications)
- Ability to network, follow-up on prospects, and ask for referrals
- Ability to counsel customers (regarding their likes, dislikes, needs)

**Work Orientation Factors**:

- The work schedule could be anywhere from part-time to full-time. The expected number of contacts would be dependent on that schedule.
- Much customer contact; external and internal
- Requirement to self-start, set goals and work to accomplish and exceed the goals.

**Position Summary**

The Fleet/Business Development Manager:

- Is focused on the process of understanding and meeting customer needs.
- Must have basic knowledge of automotive systems and thorough knowledge of prices, models, series, options, and other variations of the manufacturer’s products.
- Should know much about competitors’ products and prices.
- Should demonstrate sensitivity toward customers, and a strong interest in exceeding customers’ expectations
- Must have polished communication skills with customers, including the ability to present the dealership’s products and to pinpoint customers’ needs by interviewing and questioning.
- Must calculate cost allowances, fees, taxes, and down payments to arrive at the price of a vehicle
- Can address customer hesitation and resistance.
- Presents a positive image of the dealership, both in mode of dress and in a helpful and friendly attitude.
- In conjunction with the General Manager, determines personal sales goals and the methods by which those goals will be met, which affords the Fleet/Business Development Manager a structured method of building a clientele and achieving success.
- Works systematically not only in in the sales process but also in the process of handling the many administrative requirements of the position (i.e. paperwork, plans, reports and the maintenance of a prospect and owner follow-up system).

**What the Work is Like**

The work of the Fleet/Business Development Manager:

- Depending on the work schedule, there will be goal set for number of outside sales prospect visits per week with the intended goal of adding new fleet customers for both Sales and Service.
- Develop and execute business development campaigns
- Take advantage of any networking opportunities. For example, professional landscaper events, road building events, etc.
- Use of Business Elite demo when making outside calls.
- Promote the GM Preferred Pricing Program to all companies currently eligible in our market. Once contract is set up, bring in other team members to assist in presenting.
