The Redwoods Golf Course is currently looking for a **full-time, year-round First Assistant Golf Professional** to assist the Head Golf Professional in the leadership of the golf operations department. **About the Facility**: Redwoods is a scenic public 18-hole championship course with a gorgeous backdrop of the coastal mountains. With a Ted Locke design, the course is a mix of open links style golf paired with the tree-lined fairways of a traditional west coast style. The course is split level and the dramatic elevation changes offer a stiff challenge to golfers of all abilities. Redwoods is host to year-round public golf, tournaments, weddings, banquets, and a seasonal restaurant. Redwoods also has a practice facility complete with putting and chipping greens, a covered and heated driving range, and an enclosed teaching room with a bay door opening onto the range. **Position Overview**: Reporting to the Head Professional, the First Assistant Golf Professional (also known as Supervisor, Golf Operations) is responsible for assisting in and overseeing all areas of golf operations including the Golf Shop, Driving Range, Outside Services, as well as Tournament set up and staffing. The First Assistant Golf Professional is also responsible for teaching golf lessons with the Redwoods Golf Academy when necessary. This position requires a minimum of 40 hours of work per week. The individual must be able to work as per the demands of the facility including some weekends, evenings and holidays. **Perks and Benefits**: This full-time, year-round position includes the following: - **_Annual salary of $58,000 - $65,000_**: - **_Lesson revenue of 20%_**: - _Extended health benefits_ - _Golf and Driving Range benefits_ **Primary Duties and Responsibilities**: - _Assist in the daily supervision of all golf operations employees_ - _Oversee and lead employees during golf tournaments_ - _Teach junior golf classes and community golf clinics through the Redwoods Golf Academy as necessary_ - _Assist in training and developing employees_ - _Assist in creating and managing employee schedules_ - _Daily supervision and management of the tee time reservation system_ - _Ensure that booking and playing privileges for staff and public are being followed_ - _Execute sales for green fees, Driving Range, merchandise, clubs and rentals_ - _Supervise and assist with the course pace of play and golf etiquette_ - _Monitor and maintain general cleanliness of Driving Range, golf carts and clubs_ - _Manage and monitor Golf Shop inventory_ - _Run monthly sales reports_ - _Handle in-person complaints relevant to golf operations_ - _Act in place of the Head Professional when necessary_ - _Maintain a professional appearance at all times_ - _Other duties as assigned_ **Skills and Abilities**: - _Team oriented_ - _Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision_ - _Ability to lead and positively influence others_ - _Strong interpersonal and communication skills_ - _Excellent customer service skills_ - _Excellent sales skills_ - _Conflict resolution skills_ - _Ability to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment_ - _Quick thinking and 'can-do' attitude_ - _Ability to learn and work with point-of-sale systems_ - _Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by the demands of the facility_ - _Knowledge of Club Prophet POS is an asset_ **Qualifications**: - _PGA of Canada member in good standing is required _ - _Class "A" designation is preferred_ _ - _Three or more years of experience in golf operations is required_ - _Valid Basic First Aid, CPR and AED Certification, or equivalent will be required to be maintained during employment_ - _Willingness to complete a Police Information Check is required_ - _Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is an asset_ - _Completion of National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) instructional courses is an asset_ Thank you for your interest in joining our team - Operated by Ten Feet Sports and Entertainment, the Redwoods Golf Course has been serving locals and guests since 1994.
