**Summary**
The Administrative Assistant assists and supports the Manager - Client Services with administrative duties. They complete and maintain all the administrative functions of the department, including but not limited to time management, developing and providing regular reports within a unionized environment.
**Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications**:
- Proven experience within an administrative role, preferablywithin a health care industry
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Knowledgeableabout personal support and community support services
- Demonstrated ability to assist clients andfamily members with concern and empathy; respecting their confidentiality and privacy and communicating in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to work well under pressure;
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability;
- Computer proficiency, knowledge of MS Office and other software systems
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Be politically and culturally sensitive
**General Working Conditions**
- Generally working in an office environment
- Interacts with residents, family members, staff, visitors, etc.
- Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, and supporting clients
**Other Considerations**
Due to the changing nature of the Organization’s role and relationship with funders, the duties and responsibilities of this position may change necessitatingthe delegation of other related duties within the Organization.
The continuation of this position within the Organizationis dependent on continued funding through the Government of Ontario.
