Reliability Specialist

The Reliability Specialist will be primarily responsible for leading the LPC Reliability team's key initiatives. The role will be required to conduct audits against identified key metrics. The role will be focused on plant reliability and effective and efficient asset performance as it relates to the Asset Policy/Maintenance Strategy.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

**Asset Selection**:
- Will be part of asset selection process, considering Design for Reliability and total cost of ownership.
- Responsible for development of engineering standards for maintainability and reliability
- Contribute to user requirement specifications to increase the OEM Base condition.
- Work with the reliability team to develop a standard for inherent reliability to be considered for new assets.
**Asset Management**:
- Work with CMMS specialist once asset is selected to input the correct OEM data and verify warranty compliance.
- Utilize failure mode driven techniques to develop asset strategies for new and existing assets.
- Will adhere to company Strategic Asset Management Plan and Asset/Maintenance Policy for guidelines for asset management.
- Conduct daily observations on all packaging lines, focus on Defect elimination within the asset. Documentation will be captured in the CMMS and backlogged for future planning depending on the severity of the identified defect.
- Ensure alignment of company objectives within asset management plans.
**Asset Optimization**
- Work closely with the shop floor, continuous improvement team, & reliability team to optimize equipment.
- Continually seeks opportunities for improving efficiencies in operations, maintenance, and asset replacement practices.
- Involved in the development of training and health and safety audits for all new assets.
- Responsible for analyzing equipment, ensuring that equipment is operating as close to design parameters as possible to ensure there is no wasted production from less-than-optimal equipment capacity.
- Recommend and provide resources for technical training for current and future capital assets.
**Asset Maintenance and Reporting**:
- Work closely with maintenance management to monitor CMMS compliance, documenting any concerns that may need to involve the CMMS specialist.
- Work to include audit updates for completion of required audits at appropriate intervals.
- Work with LPC training coordinator to develop training syllabuses for sustained reliability.
**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance and reliability.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset.
- CMRP Certification is preferred.
- CRL Certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- CMMS experience required.
- Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
- Proven successes in Reliability Implementation.
**KEY COMPETENCIES**:
- Sound understanding of the principals of asset management.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentations skills.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across functional departments and levels of an organization to drive teams towards success-based results.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
