Draftsperson / Trimble Station Operator

Role At A Glance
Draftsperson is primarily responsible for creating Mechanical BIM models for a broad range of healthcare, commercial, residential, and institutional projects. You will work under the direction of our team of project managers, and in collaboration with other disciplines as part of an integrated project team. In addition, working with site leaders, you will implement Trible Total Station software to assist the field team with layout.
What You Will Do
- Create Mechanical BIM models to LOD 400. Ensure that work meets accuracy and quality standards.
- Use knowledge of construction techniques, record drawings, drawing mark-ups, and instructions from architects and engineers to generate BIM Models
- Work with BIM Team to perform clash detection and resolve
- Work with site leaders to create a Trimble points plan and deploy to the field
- Provide insight and direction to ownership on new technology
- Coordinate with other disciplines and team members, including in-house integrated teams and external consultants, to support project goals.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with all clients, internal and external, ensuring clarity and timeliness in all interactions.
- Assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors or senior team members to support the overall success of the team and company objectives.
What You Bring to the Table
- Recent or soon to be graduate of an Architecture/Construction Engineering Technology diploma program.
- Proficiency in Revit modelling, AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of building design principles and visualization techniques.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and codes applicable to mechanical design (e.g., ASHRAE, ASPE, National and Local building Codes) and a good understanding of Canadian building construction and basic building systems.
- Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with clients and stakeholders.
- Previous internship or work experience in an engineering firm is preferred but not required.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
