Daily Rate: $118.33 - $130.00 Weekly Rate: $710.00 - $780.00

Location: YMCA Camp Pine Crest, Torrance, Ontario (Transportation to camp is available at the beginning and end of the summer)

Work Hours: Must be available to work 6 days a week between Monday - Sunday, with days off predetermined by supervisor

YMCA Camping and Outdoor Education offers outdoor experiences that foster personal growth and build community. YMCA Camp Pine Crest is an overnight camp serving children, families, and organizations through naturally focused programs that embody the mission, vision, and outcomes of the YMCA. Camp Pine Crest is made up of 650 acres of Muskoka wilderness surrounded by 3 interconnected lakes with 8km of shoreline; has over 26km of hiking trails and 7,500 sq. ft. of dock and has 60 buildings.

The Counselling Supervisor ensures campers' well-being, leading group activities and resolving conflicts to create a positive camp experience. This role supervises and mentors’ counsellors, provides performance feedback, and maintains clear communication with campers’ families. By building strong relationships within the camp community, the Counselling Supervisor fosters a collaborative and supportive environment for both campers and staff.

**In this role, you will**:

- Oversee the care and well-being of campers within their group, including on out-trips
- Plan and facilitate section nights and camper cabin programs within their group
- Help manage any escalating camper conflicts that might arise within their group
- Organize, distribute, and collect Camper Experience Forms, Parent Letters, Post Cards, and Birthday Cards
- Actively supervise assigned Counsellors and MACKs throughout the summer by regularly engaging in their programming
- Provide leadership to the camp staff team by training, coaching, motivating, monitoring performance, and conducting mid
- and end-of-summer performance appraisals to ensure staff meet role expectations and achieve camp objectives
- Build relationships with members, staff, volunteers, and community partners
- Perform other duties as assigned

**You bring**:

- Current NLS by the first day of employment and valid until at least the last day of your contract or equivalent experience
- ACCT Level 2 Ropes certification (asset)
- Minimum 2 years of counselling or directly translatable experience working with children and youth
- G Class driver’s license; 21 years of age for insurance purposes preferred
- Minimum 19 years of age by the start of contract
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work effectively with others and independently to achieve optimal collective results
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers
- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to both inexperienced and seasoned staff
- Ability to deliver feedback in a timely, professional, and constructive manner
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building a sense of belonging
