YMCA Camping and Outdoor Education offers outdoor experiences that foster personal growth and build community. YMCA Camp Pine Crest is an overnight camp serving children, families, and organizations through naturally focused programs that embody the mission, vision, and outcomes of the YMCA. Camp Pine Crest is made up of 650 acres of Muskoka wilderness surrounded by 3 interconnected lakes with 8km of shoreline; has over 26km of hiking trails and 7,500 sq. ft. of dock and has 60 buildings.

The New Camper and 1 Weeker Program Head is responsible for ensuring the consistent facilitation and delivery of safe, enjoyable, challenging, and inclusive programming for 1 Weeker camp programs. The role focuses on developing new programs, mentoring and supporting 1 Weeker staff, contributing to their ongoing training, and providing timely, constructive feedback to maintain high-quality program experiences. The position includes coordinating the new camper process, working with the counselling supervisor team to engage families and ensure they are prepared and excited for their camp experience. Additional responsibilities involve coordinating mealtimes, supporting announcements, dietary information, and morning program activities, as well as facilitating Bantam (7-8) and Junior (9-10) section nights to keep programs engaging and age-appropriate.

**In this role, you will**:

- Coordinate all 1 Weeker programming, including direct program delivery as required, and collaborate with the Program Coordinator and other Program Heads to lead camp activities, section nights, and special events
- Provide leadership to the camp staff team by monitoring, coaching, and mentoring staff, and by offering ongoing feedback to staff and their supervisors
- Supervise programming in 1 Weeker cabins to ensure MACKs and Counsellors are creating engaging and age-appropriate activities, and provide in-the-moment feedback and support to ensure high-quality program delivery
- Ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time, including pulling the new camper list and dividing campers for supervisors to call, printing all 1 Weeker and Pinecones schedules, and completing additional administrative duties delegated by the Program Coordinator
- Monitor the safety of all 1 Weeker activities, respond immediately to safety concerns, and proactively ensure program areas are safe and organized
- Continuously build relationships with members, staff, volunteers, and community partners
- Perform other duties as assigned

**You bring**:

- National Lifeguard (NL) Certification
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a counsellor or in child-oriented programs
- ACCT Level 2 ropes certification and experience as a Program Head considered an asset
- G Class driver’s license by first day of employment and valid until at least the last day of your contract preferred
- Ability to work effectively with others and independently to achieve optimal collective results
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to empower an inclusive staff team
- Ability to deliver feedback in a timely, professional, and constructive manner
- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to both inexperienced and seasoned staff
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays required
