Daily Rate: $118.33 - $130.00 Weekly Rate: $710.00 - $780.00

Location: YMCA Camp Pine Crest, Torrance, Ontario (Transportation to camp is available at the beginning and end of the summer)

Work Hours: Must be available to work 6 days a week between Monday - Sunday, with days off predetermined by supervisor

YMCA Camping and Outdoor Education offers outdoor experiences that foster personal growth and build community. YMCA Camp Pine Crest is an overnight camp serving children, families, and organizations through naturally focused programs that embody the mission, vision, and outcomes of the YMCA. Camp Pine Crest is made up of 650 acres of Muskoka wilderness surrounded by 3 interconnected lakes with 8km of shoreline; has over 26km of hiking trails and 7,500 sq. ft. of dock and has 60 buildings.

The Leadership Supervisor is vital in ensuring the well-being of campers in leadership programs. This role encompasses planning and facilitating engaging activities while managing conflicts that arise among participants. By supervising Leadership Trainers and providing ongoing support, the Leadership Supervisor empowers staff to achieve their objectives and foster a positive camp environment. Building strong relationships with campers, staff, volunteers, and community partners enhances collaboration and engagement. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to inspire leadership and personal growth in both campers and staff.

**In this role, you will**:

- Oversee the care and well-being of campers in leadership programs
- Plan and facilitate leadership section nights and cabin programs for participants within the group
- Help manage escalating camper conflicts that arise within the group
- Organize, distribute, and collect Leadership Appraisals, Post Cards, and Birthday Cards
- Actively supervise assigned Leadership Trainers throughout the summer by regularly engaging in their programming
- Provide leadership to the camp staff team by training, coaching, motivating, monitoring performance, and conducting mid
- and end-of-summer performance appraisals to ensure staff meet role expectations and achieve camp objectives
- Build relationships with members, staff, volunteers, and community partners
- Perform other duties as assigned

**You bring**:

- Current NLS certification by the first day of employment, valid until at least the last day of the contract
- Minimum 19 years of age by the start of the contract
- G Class driver’s license preferred
- Minimum 2 years of counseling experience or directly translatable experience working with children and youth
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work effectively with others and independently to achieve optimal results
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers
- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to both inexperienced and seasoned staff
- Ability to deliver feedback in a timely, professional, and constructive manner
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building a sense of belonging
