**What You Will Do**:
In this unionized position of **Casual - Accounting Assistant, Accounts Payable, **you will play an essential role within our Financial Services department. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Completing accounts payable functions including setting up new vendors, sorting payables documents, ensuring payables are properly supported and approved as per Company policy;
- Checking all incoming payables documents for coding, directing packages for signature, keying accounts payable document, preparing payable cheques for mailing, filing, maintaining files, matching vendor statements to accounts payable payment records, photocopying and other general accounts payable functions;
- Completing general cash processing support functions including keying entries for cash receipt transactions, adding cheques and bill stubs, matching cheques to bill stubs, witnessing completion of daily cash receipts log and processing; and
- Providing back up for reception.

**What You Will Bring**:
Required qualifications:

- Post-secondary accounting diploma from a recognized institution;
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience;
- Valid Alberta Driver’s license;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint);
- Intermediate knowledge of financial software programs, preferably JDE; and
- Ability to effectively organize tasks.
