Accounting Manager

Allworth & Associates, Chartered Professional Accountants is looking to grow the team with the addition of a vibrant Accounting Manager. The successful individual will supervise, monitor, and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities. We are conveniently located in Oakville, ON, and have been providing Accounting, Tax Preparation, Bookkeeping, and Payroll Services to our amazing clients since 1994
**Responsibilities**:
- Detailed review of notice to reader, review and audit files to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and Firm policies
- Detailed review of corporate, personal tax, and trust returns to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and Firm policies
- Detailed review of T4’s and T5’s to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and Firm policies
- Attend and present financial statements at client AGM’s
- Educating, supervising, and mentoring staff with respect to engagement performance and current accounting and taxation issues
- Communication with clients, other professionals, and Canada Revenue Agency
- Conduct research, as necessary, on technical matters related to client situations to answer client queries or solve problems
- Track client deadlines and assist with scheduling to ensure work is completed and filed on time
- Develop and maintain strong long-term working relationships with key internal decision-makers to provide updates on the engagement process, client issues and proposed solutions, and other office matters
- Provide input into staff performance reviews
- Foster a positive, professional, and constructive environment for clients and staff
**Qualifications/Requirements**:
- CPA designation
- 3+ years’ post-designation experience in public accounting preferably with a small to medium size firm
- Experience in performing and reviewing accounting, assurance, and tax files
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises and Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Auditing Standards and Canadian Standards for Review Engagements
- Strong knowledge of both personal and corporate tax
- Proficiency in Caseware Working Papers
- Experience with Sage 50 and Quickbooks
- In-depth tax certification an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Extended hours during personal tax season and occasionally as the volume of work and deadlines require
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
