**WHAT’S THE OPPORTUNITY?**

We are seeking an innovative and collaborative leader to serve as Director of the Family Violence Project. This role is responsible for providing strategic direction, fostering meaningful community partnerships — particularly with grassroots organizations — and ensuring high-quality, coordinated service delivery. The Director will drive innovation, champion equity, and strengthen FVP’s impact across the region.

**About the Family Violence Project (FVP)**

The Family Violence Project (FVP) is a collaborative model that brings together multiple service providers to support individuals and families experiencing gender-based violence. Partner agencies work together toward our shared vision: to increase the safety and wellbeing of our diverse community by reducing gender-based violence through an upstream and collaborative approach that minimizes re-victimization.

The partner agencies are: Camino Wellbeing +Mental Health, Child Witness Centre, Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region, Waterloo Regional Police Service (IPVU, VSU, SST), Crown Attorney’s Office, Victim/Witness Assistance Program, Family and Children Services, Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centre, Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region (SASC),Victim Services of Waterloo Region (VSWR). Camino Wellbeing +Mental Health is the backbone agency. Among the partners, Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health is a backbone agency, providing key infrastructure support.

The Director of FVP plays a vital role in providing strategic leadership, overseeing program operations, and fostering strong partnerships to ensure impactful, community-based service delivery.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Leadership & Strategy**
- Lead the planning and execution of strategic priorities that reflect FVP’s mission and core values.
- Engage and collaborate with community-based and grassroots organizations to enhance the FVP model and better reflect the needs of diverse populations.
- Advance strategic initiatives that improve service integration, equity, and client outcomes.

**Program & Operations**
- Oversee daily operations, policy development, program monitoring, and evaluation.
- Identify service gaps and implement responsive strategies with community and sector partners.
- Ensure FVP remains visible, connected, and engaged with the broader community and key stakeholders.
- Lead the development and implementation of internal systems and communications, including FVP’s digital presence.

**Human Resources & Finance**
- Supervise and support a small team of professionals through coaching, mentoring, and performance development.
- Prepare and manage budgets; lead grant and funding proposals to support innovative initiatives.
- Cultivate a workplace culture rooted in respect, accountability, and inclusion.

**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**
- Master’s degree in health, social, or behavioral sciences or a related field would be considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a human services setting.
- Strong knowledge of gender-based violence (GBV), relevant legislation, and community systems.
- Prior experience in the gender-based violence (GBV) sector is considered an asset
- Proven success in program management, evaluation, and systems design.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with grassroots organizations and marginalized communities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with client databases and social media platforms is an asset.

**ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW**
- This is a Full-Time Contract role lasting approximately 4 years in duration, requiring 37.5 hours per week
- Must be able to travel within the region; valid driver’s license and insurance may be required.
- A satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required.
- This role may be required to work during evening meetings or community events on occasion.
- Compensation: $105,000 - $115,000 annually based on skills and experience.
