**Overview**
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The Controller will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective budgeting. This position requires strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices. This position reports to the Finance Manager.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Oversee and manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Assist with external audits and liaise with auditors as required.
- Support payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate remittances.

**Required Qualifications & Skills**:

- Minimum 10 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in the construction or related industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with payroll processing, tax compliance, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- CPA, CA, or CMA designation (or working towards certification) or on the job experience.
- Experience in the construction or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of GST, PST, and corporate tax filings.
