Accounting Clerk

The Accounting Clerk is an integral part of the Accounting team, ensuring that the department’s high standards of operations are maintained on a daily basis. The accounting clerk must be a self-starter, able to work independently and with a team in a fast paced environment and the ability to manage through change.
**Responsibilities**
- Accounts payable, accounts receivable, setting up new accounts, credit checks.
- Posting required journal entries, including prepaid, accruals, payroll, etc.
- The use of computerized and manual systems for financial management.
- Telephone administration, account statements, filing.
- Respond to customer / vendor inquiries, maintain good customer / vendor relations and solve problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge and Skill
- Basic math and problem solving capabilities.
- Proficient knowledge of computer software programs including MS Word and Excel, Outlook.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks and/or Simply Accounting using a paperless system.

- Ability to identify process inefficiencies and make suggestions.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Experience within a multi-company environment.
- A meticulous work ethic and an ability to attend to detail.

Education and Experience
- Post-secondary accounting and / or Accounting diploma.
- Experience in a multi-company accounting position considered an asset.
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
