**Essential Job Responsibilities**:
**Interacting with Patients**
- Scheduling and confirming appointments
- Greeting patients; welcoming patients to exam rooms
- completing BP's and weight intake
- Validating patients' provincial health services cards
- Answering telephone inquiries
- Booking necessary tests

**Maintaining Health Records**
- Starting new medical files for new patients in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Scanning all relevant notes and laboratory investigations into the EMR
- Ensuring the confidentiality of patients' medical files and records
- Completing EMR tasks, relating to patients

**Facilitating Office Communications**
- Relaying messages between medical staff as necessary
- Answering phones

**Coordinating Outside Services**
- Faxing requisitions for laboratory tests, hospital admissions, and medical procedures
- Coordinating with patients their consultations for other doctors or specialists

**Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required**:

- A post-secondary education / work in a field related to secretarial work or medical office assisting
- A professional and caring demeanor
- Experience with EMR systems
- An understanding of medical terminology and office procedures
- Great organizational skills
- The ability to learn and use new computer software effectively
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $20.50 per hour
