**Located in Calgary, Foundations for the Future Charter Academy (FFCA) is the largest public
charter school in Alberta, soon to be serving over 4000 students in eight campuses throughout
the city. We offer educational programming through a Distinctive Teaching and Learning
Framework developed within the Alberta context for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Our mission is to provide a safe and caring environment where the four pillars of our charter:
academic excellence, character development, parental involvement, and staff leadership are
valued and fostered.

**FFCA is seeking to hire a Human Resources Administrator to begin January 6, 2025 for**
**12 months with the possibility of extension.**

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent, the Human Resources Administrator provides
administrative and operational assistance in meeting the personnel needs of the
organization as well as developing employee relations policies, benefits administration,
health and safety programs and employee training processes.

**Responsibilities**

The Human Resources Administrator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Personnel Responsibilities
a. Coordinate annual staffing process,
b. Research collective agreements for salary comparisons,
c. Prepare employment contracts as needed.
d. Present new employment packages to new staff,
e. Maintain employee database and files,
f. Prepare employee letters (i.e. experience verifications, salary

confirmations, leave of absence) as needed,
g. Organize recruitment for mid-year hiring,
h. Recruit substitute teachers,
i. Provide assistance to campus administrators regarding HR policies and

procedures,
j. Provide guidance on employment-related laws and jurisprudence on

matters pertaining to the Human Rights Code and Employment
Standards,

k. Benefits administration. Liaise with group benefits carrier and coordinate
benefit information for all staff and applicants of retiree benefits and
parental leaves,

l. Respond to payroll inquiries and liaise with the Director of
Finance/Payroll.

2. Alberta Education Responsibilities
a. Prepare and send annual School Authority Employment Submission,
b. Monitor and process teaching certificate issuance.

3. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy
a. Serve as the FOIP Coordinator, responsible for managing access to

information and protecting personal information.

4. Occupational Health and Safety
a. Prepare and distribute agenda to OH&S Committee,
b. Attend meetings with OH&S Committee,
c. Record meeting minutes and distribute them,
d. Manage Public School Works system.

5. Office Support Responsibilities
a. Maintain Central Office absence management system,
b. Provide assistance to CFO/Secretary-Treasurer with the budget process

in regard to staffing and other office management duties as needed,
c. Post and manage FFCA blog posts.

6. Other duties as assigned

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Attributes
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member
- Proficiency in Microsoft/Office 365/SharePoint**
**Desired Experience and/or Training
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Human Resources or related field
- Previous experience working in Human Resources
