Temporary Student Services Coordinator

Under the guidance of the Director of Student Services, The Student Services Coordinator will support student success, transition, and engagement for the Vancouver Campus students. In partnership with the Director of Student Services and the International Student Services Coordinator, the Student Services Coordinator will assist with planning, coordinating and implementing various services and programs to support students. The Student Services Coordinator assists with transition programs like our Student Ambassador program, Orientation programs, welcome-back events, university lecture series, wellness, and other professional and personal development programs. In addition, the position may provide specialized assistance and support to both domestic and international students as they prepare to enter Adler University and during the start of their degree programs. The incumbent will provide support and instrumental assistance in student transition to Adler and advise international students on health insurance matters and other settlement issues like documentation and housing.
- **This assignment is expected to last for 90 days with the possibility of an extension.**
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
***Orientation & Transition - (Fall term)
- Organize webinars on the transition to Adler and preparations in conjunction with Admissions
- Communicate information about housing, health insurance, and other services to support the transition of incoming domestic and international students.
- Organize a week of orientation programs in conjunction with Student Services Director, Admissions and student leaders
- Develop program materials, presentations and activities that support cultural acclimation for international students.
- Communicate with incoming students about the orientation programs and be responsible for confirming registration for this program
- Coordinate catering for the orientation week and other on-campus and off-campus events
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (Dean, Program Directors, Registrar, Financial Aid, etc.), external partners/presenters (i.e. Health insurance representatives, Immigration Consultants, banking professionals, etc.) and other program personnel regarding the orientation programming
- Coordinate logistics (set-up, tear down, room booking, technology, etc.) for the orientation and other on-campus and online Student Services programs
- Oversee temporary health insurance and MSP registration for incoming international students
- Support the verification and record-keeping of students’ immigration documents
- Assist Student Services, Director, with other administrative tasks as required
Program Coordination
- Student Ambassador Program
- Recruit and coordinate continuing students to participate as Student Ambassadors to match with incoming students
- Advertise and promote the program opportunity to continuing and incoming students
- Troubleshoot conflicts that arise amongst the student peers and matches
Event Planning
- Provide support to the Manager, Student and Alumni Services with on-campus events such as orientation (all students), commencement, student organization events, workshops, and other Student Services led events
Student Information
- Provide frontline support to students regarding policies and procedures at Adler
- Identify and refer students requiring more complex advisement to Student Services, Director or appropriate institutional staff (i.e. Registrar, Financial Aid, etc.)
- Create communications materials including posters, and other materials to inform students of resources, policies and campus events
