Under the guidance of the Human Resources (HR) Manager, the Human Resources (HR) & Payroll Coordinator supports Edison Properties employees and leadership team. This includes supporting talent management and onboarding, policies and procedures, recruitment, payroll and benefits processes, reporting, and other duties as assigned.
**Responsibilities Include**:
- **Recruitment and Onboarding/Offboarding**
- Develop and facilitate a meaningful onboarding and offboarding strategy, including managing logistics with appropriate teams and creating a welcoming environment for new employees.
- **Payroll and Benefits**
- Process bi-weekly payrolls for multiple departments including salary and hourly employees.
- Assist with complicated pay exceptions, bonus, and incentive payments, error resolution, and problem-solving for payroll, time management, and financial reporting.
- Assist the Payroll Administrator with year-end balancing and reporting.
- Benefits administration.
- **HR Reporting, Metrics, and Analytics**
- Collects and analyzes HR data, providing appropriate metrics.
- **HR Program Support**
- Working with the HR Manager to implement, reinforce, and modify HR policies and procedures keeping in mind the relevant legislation and best practices. Recommends improvements.
- Provides advice and assistance to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned
**Qualifications and Experience Required**:
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, business, or related field.
- HR certification or currently pursuing a certification (e.g. CHRP, CHRL, SHRP, PHR, SPHR) is considered an asset.
- **Experience**: 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources; 6 months-1 year of experience in Payroll
- Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience working with UKG would be considered an asset.
- Clear Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector) must be maintained.
- Work with a HRIS/Payroll system in terms of the setup of modules and running payroll is an asset.
- Occasional work outside of regular work hours may be required to support the HR programs.
