**About Us**:
**Role**:
The Employee Safety Office (ESO) is a 24/7/365 day operation and its main priority is to monitor staff who engage in working alone situations throughout Alberta as well as receiving and dispatching for several different public lines. Safety Communication Officers fill a vital role within a highly specialized remote communication and intelligence hub as the primary point of contact for incident processing, resource utilization, communication, and documentation during emergency and non-emergency calls. Industry specific knowledge is a requirement to ensure appropriate advice is provided in meeting public and clients needs.
- The work of this position results in effective decision to deliver the best service based on GoA and non-GoA service agreements.
- The successful incumbent will be responsible to:
- Provide timely, accurate and effective communication within client groups and between client groups and the public.
- Provide Clients with safety services and emergency response as needed.
- Support government enforcement activities and provide sensitive information upon request.
- Ensure communications systems are functioning properly and remains within acceptable audio and operational parameters
- Report and log any service outages or problematic equipment reported by clients or detected by the operator to the appropriate vendor;
**Qualifications**:
High School Diploma and 3 years related experience in customer service dealing directly with the public is required.

- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

Following will be considered as assets:
- Certificate in Emergency Communication and Response Program or similar
- Industry Canada - Restricted Radio Operators License - Aeronautical Certified Examiner
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including FOIP, the Police Act and GOA Acts in order to provide accurate information to the appropriate clients through data, voice and radio communication.
- Technical abilities in radio communications systems and equipment
- High level of computer proficiency including typing speed and abilities with Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of Client Service Agreements in order to provide expected service levels for each client, including the utilization of client escalation plans.

**Salary**:
$1,884.99 to $2,307.87 bi-weekly, $49,198.24 to $60,235.41/Yearly
**Notes**:
This position is located out of the Terrace Building, 9515 107 Street, NW.
At present, there is one position vacant (temporary with the potential for permanent) for this role.
This position is an 8 hour shift on a 24/7 365 rotational basis. Hours of work per week: 36.25 hours/week
The incumbent must be prepared to work irregular hours, overtime, shifts, evenings and/or weekends, and/or statutory and provincial holidays.
There is no provision for this position to work from home.
