We are currently looking for a Safety Officer for one of our prestigious client.

**Job Summary**

As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees within the organization. This role involves implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, providing safety training, and developing and maintaining safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. The Safety Officer will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with local and provincial safety regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1.** **Safety Program Implementation & Regulatory compliance**

  • Implement, audit and update safety policies, procedures and guidelines, ensuring

alignment with Engrity and Clientele commitment to a zero-incident workplace.

  • Roll out the company safety programs during execution
  • Ensure that all employees follow safety policies.
  • Stay current with changes in industrial safety regulations and ensure compliance with local,

provincial, and federal standards.

**2.** **Site Inspections and Audits**

  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance

with industrial safety standards.

  • Work closely with project management to propose and implement corrective / preventive

measures to mitigate future risks

**3.** **Training and Development**

  • Plan and conduct safety training programs for employees, including new employee

orientations and ongoing safety training.

  • Keep records of safety training and certifications.

**4.** **Incident Investigation**

  • Initiate and/or provide advisory support during investigations of incidents and near misses.
  • Maintain records of detailed reports and logs

**5.** **Project Safety Plan**

  • Assist with and/or lead the development of the PSP (Project Safety Plan) integrating all

specifics including: Emergency response plan, JHA’s etc.

  • Update safety manual with new initiatives as required.

**6.** **Communication and Liaison**

  • Serve as a liaison between field, management and client for safety-related matters

**7.** **Reporting and record Keeping**

  • Prepare safety reports and statistics for management
  • Maintain comprehensive safety records and documentation.

**Qualifications**

  • Professional Training in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Designation as a certified Safety Office (CSP, NCSO) or equivalent designation is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a safety advisory / Safety officer position within the heavy industrial

sector.

  • Thorough understanding of industrial safety regulations, codes, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for safety management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced industrial construction

environment.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
