**Centennial Infant and Child Centre (CICC)** preschool serves children ages 18 months - 4 years and their families. Children with a wide range of abilities, needs, diagnoses, and backgrounds grow and learn at our integrated therapeutic preschool under the guidance of a team of experienced special educators and consulting therapists. The Centre also operates an Early Intervention Program supporting 400 infants and children in home, a childcare consulting program, and the Path Forward program, through which adults with developmental disabilities are employed at the preschool.

CICC was established in 1979 and is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization and a registered charity.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this position has overall program responsibility for directing the day-to-day operations and strategic aspects of CICC Preschool.

**Key Tasks**:
The Managing Supervisor, Preschool Programs will function independently in directing the work of their staff; anticipate and resolve problems; lead the decision-making process; provide consistent leadership; maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with staff, students, volunteers, families, and external stakeholders, communicating and interacting effectively across multiple reporting relationships. Sixty percent of this position entails operational responsibilities of the preschool program and forty percent entails active teaching and mentorship in the preschool classrooms. The successful applicant will contribute to a positive, supportive, and productive workplace atmosphere, continuously exploring opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, digitization and risk assessment.

**Operational Duties and Responsibilities (60%)**:
**Stakeholder Relations**:

- Intake & Families - Initiate contact with referral sources and families requesting service; ensure the program meets enrolment goals; support families with enrollment, subsidy, and the transition to preschool and, later, to Junior Kindergarten; and address family concerns and programmatic questions.
- Oversee and approve the development of all Individual Program Plans (IPP) and year end reports, created by the preschool teachers for each child in the preschool.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, therapists, and external providers to create Medical, Emergency, Feeding, and other Plans as needed for children.
- Manage CICC’s Classroom Support Coordinator as they supervise volunteer, student placement, and Path Forward programs.
- Manage outreach programming such as trips, graduation, campaigns, etc., attending occasional events after hours, as well as attending evening Board Meetings on occasion.

**Administration**:

- Develop and execute various forms of internal and external communication.
- Ensure all policies and practices comply with provincial and municipal standards, including but not limited to the Ministry of Education Child Care and Early Years Act, the City of Toronto Assessment for Quality Improvement, Toronto Public Health, and other governing bodies.
- Ensure the Parent Handbook is current, updated annually and compliant based on CCEYA (2014).
- Ensure all information on CICC’s website and all promotional material is updated and current.
- Provide monthly performance reports to the ED highlighting successes, opportunities and statistics.

**Staffing and Human Resources for Preschool Staff**:

- Recruit, onboard, supervise, and support all staff working in the Preschool Program. Coordinate professional development opportunities.
- Conduct regular informal and annual formal performance evaluations.
- Monitor compliance of all CICC policies, procedures and regulations
- Foster a cohesive and positive team environment by establishing positive relationships.

**Strategic Planning**:

- Contribute to sound decision making for CICC in collaboration with the management team.
- Collaborate with the ED, the Board of Directors, and other managers to operationalize the Strategic Plan, moving CICC into the future.

**Teaching Duties and Responsibilities (40%)**:

- Coach teachers in the implementation of the IPPs, problem-solving around children’s needs, and ensuring assessment of the children for year-end and other reports.
- Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary teaching and therapy team (which includes the OT, PT, and SLP).
- Coach and support preschool staff in the implementation of Ontario’s Curriculum, How Does Learning Happen?
- This job involves lifting, bending, playing on the floor, climbing up and down stairs, and dancing, often while supporting or carrying a preschool child._
