**JOB SUMMARY**

The Program Supervisor reports directly to the Executive Director and assists in providing leadership, overall management, and attending to the operations of the organization according to the strategic direction and policies as amended from time to time for the Satellite location. The Program Supervisor is responsible for assisting with policy implementation and effective management of Westend Parents Daycare Satellite Programs, which includes 2 full day kindergarten programs and 2 school age programs. The Program Supervisor works closely with all employees in the Satellite Program to plan and develop age-appropriate programs to enhance the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development according to _Westend Parents Daycare Centre_ program statement and philosophy and the Child Care Early Years Act, using Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT), How Does Learning Happen? Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) and Public Health Guidelines. This position is a split shift during school days, 7:30 am to 9:00 am and 2:30 to 6:00 pm and 7 hour shift during non instructional days.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES & LEVEL OF AUTHORITY**
- Assists the Executive Director in hiring, supervising, disciplining and managing the performance of staff of the Satellite location.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Satellite location.
- Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures to support staff and meet the children’s needs
- Provides pedagogical orientation for new hires, acts as resource to all staff
- Assists in monitoring and evaluating staff, recommending and/or administering discipline where necessary
- Assumes other responsibilities as delegated by the Executive Director

**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Provincially recognized equivalency
- Current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Valid Standard First-Aid and Level “C” CPR Certificate
- Proof of a satisfactory Police Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Child Care Management or Administration Program Certificate would be an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and training of Ontario’s _Human Rights Code_, the Integrated Accessibility Standard (_AODA_), _the Occupational Health and Safety Act_, and Conflict Management Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Human Resource Management, financial management, and risk management
- Occupational Health and Safety certification are an asset

**EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS**:

- Current Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Current satisfactory Police Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- CRC to be completed every 5 years on work anniversary, to sign a declaration form annually with 2 weeks of work anniversary of alternate years.
- Valid First Aid training and Level “C” CPR
- Health Assessment, T.B. test, up-to-date immunizations, including minimum of 2 doses of COVID-19 Vaccine
- Signing off all Westend Parents Daycare policies annually. These include but are not limited to: Program Statement, Behaviour Guidance, Child Abuse, Bias Free Policy, Serious Occurrence, etc.
- Working knowledge of “How Does Learning Happen?” ELECT, AQI, Public Health Guidelines

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Experienced in program planning using Ontario’s recognized early years framework including a strong understanding of “How Does Learning Happen?” ELECT Document, and AQI
- Experience managing a unionized environment
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong knowledge of the child care policies, procedures, and regulations including the Child Care and Early Years Act and Public Health
- A demonstrated understanding of the College of Early Childhood Educators, Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice and Continuous Professional Learning
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of creating respectful, nurturing, and empowering relationship in building a cohesive team

**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE - 3 years**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: From $38.46 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
