There are vacancies in the following portfolios:
**Streets to Homes (S2H),** this unit engages people experiencing street homelessness in Toronto to address their self-identified needs towards securing and sustaining housing. This is part of the Outreach and Access**section which co-ordinates access to Toronto's Shelter and Outreach Services and resolves operational issues for Toronto Shelter and Support Services.

**Homeless Prevention Initiatives (HIPS)** delivers, coordinates, and oversees an integrated system of direct services for individuals and communities impacted by homelessness.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- This position reports to the Manager or designate and works as part of a collaborative management team. The Supervisor, Programs is responsible for direct operations, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation as well as corporate and divisional policy and guidance, as well as the supervision of direct and indirect reports, to support improved housing outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness who are living outdoors or in encampments and or support a variety of programs within a designated site.
- Staff Development and Supervision are an integral part of this role. You will provide day-to-day supervision of our front-line management teams, and will be responsible for fostering their leadership, accountability and competency skills development. You will provide oversight of the supervision of our front-line operations team and will be responsible for ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, and continuous learning, and encouraging innovation in others.
- When required, you will also be responsible for any labour relation concerns that may arise. As part of your role, as a competent supervisor under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, you will be responsible for conducting incident management, including investigation, debriefing and reporting. This includes workplace violence, serious and critical incidents. You will also be expected to ensure compliance with safety and security matters under Occupational Health and Safety legislation and divisional safety and security policies, including workplace accommodations.
- As a key member of the shelter's Senior Leadership Team, you will take a lead role in providing leadership in service planning and program policy development that incorporates identified needs with input from clients, community agencies, and staff. You will also engage staff and clients for input and feedback on the development of our divisional and corporate work plan objectives and priorities as it relates to the delivery of services in a shelter environment/or for individuals living outside.
- You will have the opportunity to provide input into and administer your assigned budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations as it relates to program matters.
- Overall, you will be responsible to ensure all services are provided in accordance with applicable legislation as well as Corporate and Divisional policies, procedures and guidelines.

**Key Qualifications**:
Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to this work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable supervisory experience in a social services and/or human services unionized environment, including the management of any labour relation issues that may arise.
- Experience in the planning and implementation of programs, policies and/or procedures that address the complex needs and characteristics of the homeless population.
- Experience working with a variety of stakeholders to achieve a common goal and build successful partnerships. (i.e., community and government agencies) with varying and differing priorities.
- Considerable experience leading motivating, coaching and developing individuals and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to provide service within a harm reduction, trauma informed and anti oppression framework.
