Osler is currently recruiting for a Client & Business Development Coordinator in our Vancouver office.

Working under the direction of the Client & Business Development Director, the Client & Business Development Coordinator will provide tactical and administrative business development support for Vancouver practice areas and initiatives, as well assist with client-related events.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Assist with the development and implementation of strategic business development and marketing plans
- Maintain Vancouver deal lists and assist in the drafting of matter descriptions for internal and external use
- Conduct research in connection with potential clients or markets, market developments and competitor activities using various external tools such as Capital IQ, Mergermarket, or similar platforms
- Assist in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities and targets, facilitating cross-selling initiatives and participating on client-specific teams
- Provide administrative assistance with the National Alumni Program including onboarding departing Legal Professionals (alumni), tracking alumni professional development and changes, contribute to the organization of national events and quarterly newsletters, monitoring the program inbox and appropriately handling incoming requests and inquiries, etc.
- Assist in the planning and execution of client events (e.g. seminars, conferences, sponsorships events, etc.) including liaising with event organizers, handling registration, assisting with production of handouts, collateral materials, name badges and managing guest lists in CRM, and coordinating with follow up activities
- Prepare materials for Vancouver Partner and Practice Group meetings including weekly client news, monthly client development reports and any requested information
- Work with the Pursuits team in responses to RFPs, credentials and other documentation requests from Vancouver lawyers and clients as needed
- Lead and support the development of submissions to approved ranking services and directories (e.g. Chambers and Partners)
- Coordinate with Legal Professionals and Marketing team on external messaging, sponsorship and thought leadership activities
- Provide Legal Assistants with guidance on navigating CRM database and ensure that complete client information is entered in a timely manner
- Work with the Marketing team to update web content and client facing materials
- Perform other duties as required to assist the Client Development department

**Education and Experience**

University or college diploma (preferably in business or marketing) plus one year of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter and be highly motivated to handle a fast-paced environment.
- A team player who also works well independently.
- Extremely well organized with superb attention to detail, disciplined execution and follow-through skills.
- Excellent time management skills are essential.
- Proficient in MS Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Capital IQ, Mergermarket and similar platforms would be an asset.
