**Responsibilities**:
PRIMARY PURPOSE

Manages the servicing of the revenue fleet and non-fleet vehicles at all CMBC depots, ensuring that all servicing and scheduled transit service requirements are met for Diesel, CNG, Battery Electric and Double Decker revenue vehicles.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manages CMBC’s fleet and non-fleet vehicle servicing duties at all transit centres, ensuring that all servicing and scheduled transit service requirements are met. Directs total safety inspection of vehicles, ordering supplies, ensuring servicing equipment are maintained in good operating condition, testing and evaluating new cleaning materials and equipment for possible use by CMBC. Implements new, improved servicing methods, procedures and equipment to meet environmental concerns and other changing requirements of the fleet vehicle servicing program. Assists in creating and implementing training videos and safe work procedures for new products and new equipment process for Service Persons and Interior Cleaners

Plans, schedules, monitors work and assigns resources to preventive maintenance and project work. Receives and responds to daily calls for service and adjusts work priorities to respond to problems and urgent requests. Responds to off-hour emergency calls as required.

Monitor and improve reporting methods and coaching in the use and importance providing more accurate and timely information to our business partners

Assigns vehicles to scheduled and non-scheduled runs according to operational and maintenance requirements, including coordinating scheduling and other changes with TComm, Depot Office, Maintenance Staff, Transit Operators and Servicepersons, in response to planned service requirements and unforeseen disruptions. Attends various meetings dealing with vehicle allocation, scheduling, safety, etc. Provides input on various issues such as fleet servicing and service requirements.

Participates in developing the department’s budget and manages approved budget and expenditures and makes changes as required. Collects and maintains fuel and oil inventory information, records containing service dates and work performed, and other services records as required.

Manages rehabilitation for employees assigned to the department and collaborates with other business groups to improve process. This includes training, evaluating and reporting progress to the OHN Group for Modified Service Person’s, Service Person Trials, Interior Cleaners trials for accommodation.

Ensures that safe work practices (WHIMIS and WSBC) are met through training, tailgates and reviewing procedures for Diesel, CNG, Electric and Battery and Double Decker buses and other work duties performed by Service Person and Interior Cleaner. Conducts monthly WCB safety inspections of the service property, managing toxic or chemical spills and power outages, training service staff in new safety procedures, and responding to any service area safety issues. Involved in emergency planning and creating an improved more efficient pandemic plan, this would provide the least amount of disruption for our customers.

Answer internal/external customer complaints regarding issues of cleanliness on specific buses and provides a timely response

Manages relationships with Unions, internal and external Stakeholders to proactively resolve issues. Attends various Union/Management meetings.

Manages staff including selection, training, development, coaching, and performance management and all people management practices. Provides recommendations for collective bargaining and represents the employer in the grievance process, where applicable.

**Qualifications**:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The competencies for this position would be acquired through completion of a Management Diploma Program.

Consideration will be given to applicants that have successfully completed a supervisory program which includes courses in labour relations, conflict resolution, supervisory techniques and management principles.
