**Curriculum Specialist**:
**Primary Purpose**: This position will provide centralized oversight and management of the WCVM undergraduate curriculum. This includes ensuring a cohesive approach to workflow through curriculum mapping, and student timetable coordination to ensure consistent program delivery and compliance with accreditation standards. This position will play a key role in the transition of veterinary students at each promotion point and work to ensure that content and timeliness of programming are efficient and organized. This position will also take on curriculum related projects as identified and requested by the WCVM leadership team.

**Nature of Work**:Reporting to the Associate Dean, Academic and working closely with the Associate Dean, Clinical Programs, the Curriculum Specialist will build and maintain professional relationships with various stakeholders including students, faculty and outside stakeholders including private practitioners and members of industry. In consultation with the Associate Dean, Clinical Program and the Associate Dean, Academic, this individual will update and maintain current curriculum policies and programs, as well as work with faculty to enhance the undergraduate student program. This position will work with the Academic office in the creation and management of DEPAs. This position requires the ability to make timely decisions while working under pressure in an environment of continuous change and have the ability to multi-task.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:

- Oversee the day-to-day management and operations of the 580-rotation program (4th year), dealing with or referring on issues as appropriate
- Management of clinical rotation schedules, including support of the annual 4th year draft
- Coordination of student externships through relationships built with private practices and industry partners.
- Act as a liaison for the WCVM for international and visiting students enrolled in clinical rotations, including addressing student program concerns and inquiries, student performance monitoring, and communication with other institutions to ensure contractual compliance
- responsible for the administration of the final phase of the DVM Program and provides administrative and clerical support to the externship program and Fourth year Teachers and Examiners Committee with emphasis on a high degree of accuracy
- monitors and records DEPA’s, paperwork for elective courses, course and rotation changes and assists with a variety of other functions related to academic and student services. The incumbent also provides direct secretarial support to the Associate Dean (Clinical Programs)
- coordinates and records rotation and course schedule changes; maintains student files and the WCVM Student Data Base; maintains and distributes dosimetry badges and prepares the necessary paperwork related to these and updates the website for the WCVM Academic and Student Services Office. This individual performs a number of other duties in support of the overall functions under the umbrella of the Associate Dean (Academic) and also deals with confidential items such as students with special needs, grades, and records.

**Education**: A relevant undergraduate degree. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

**Experience**:A minimum of five years relevant experience. Experience working with undergraduate curriculum, particularly as it related to the DVM program would be considered a significant asset. Understanding of the University structure and SVMA regulations would be beneficial.
