**Educational Program Specialist**:
**Primary Purpose**: To facilitate the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the new Master of Speech Language Pathology (MSLP) and Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) programs’ curricula and assessment strategies. These new approximately 2-year professional graduate programs are scheduled to commence their first cohorts in Fall 2026, with 40 students each. In addition to supporting development and implementation of the MSLP and MOT curricula, the Educational Program Specialist will support implementation of a renewed Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) curricula and harmonization of curricular elements across all three programs (i.e. MSLP, MOT and MPT) within the School of Rehabilitation Science (SRS).

The Educational Program Specialist role involves designing and developing comprehensive educational frameworks and evaluation methods from the ground up, ensuring alignment with the respective accreditation standards and best practices in the health professional education landscape. Additionally, the specialist will collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to foster a culture of academic excellence and innovation in teaching and learning.

**Nature of Work**: The Educational Program Specialist will play a pivotal role in the conceptualization, development, and operationalization of the curricula for the new MSLP and MOT programs as well as the renewed MPT curricula. Reporting directly to the Director of the SRS, this role demands close collaboration with SRS academic leadership, including the respective Program Chairs and SRS faculty, to design and implement a curricula frameworks that meet rigorous academic and clinical standards. The Specialist will also actively work alongside the SRS Executive Curriculum Committee, participate in other relevant SRS committees, contributing to broader program strategies and ensuring the curricula supports the programs’ and SRS’ goals and respective program accreditation requirements. This position is essential for creating a foundation of educational excellence as the SLP and OT programs prepare to welcome their first cohorts alongside an existing MPT program.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:
**Curriculum Development and Assessment**:

- Lead the creation, ongoing refinement, and review of curricula maps, course content, and learning objectives in collaboration with faculty, ensuring alignment with MOT/MSLP/ MPT programs’ goals, competencies, and respective program accreditation standards.
- Design and implement comprehensive assessment strategies to measure student performance and effectiveness of programs, working closely with faculty to develop formative and summative assessment tools aligned with learning outcomes.

**Faculty Support and Educational Enhancement**:

- Provide ongoing support and consultation to faculty on curricula design, instructional methods, and assessment techniques, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with the SRS Director and MPT/MSLP/MOT Program Chairs to enhance learning opportunities for SRS faculty and staff, focusing on areas relevant to the curricula of the MSLP, MOT and MPT programs, and ensuring effective teaching practices.
- Work closely with content-experts to improve the delivery of various learning components, determining and implementing effective teaching methods that promote evidence-based practices and align with the programs’ objectives.

**Program Management and Quality Assurance**:

- Monitor program timelines and milestones, providing regular updates to leadership and recommending adjustments to ensure timely progress and achievement of programs’ objectives.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of the programs to ensure quality, compliance with accreditation standards, and continuous improvement, assisting in preparing accreditation documentation and participating in site visits.

**Education**:Master’s degree in Education, Health Professions Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

**Experience**:A minimum of five years’ experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational curriculum in higher education is required, preferably in health sciences or medical education. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of accreditation processes and standards in health education programs is required.
