Program Mapping Specialist, College of Arts and Science Primary Purpose: The College of Arts and Sciences offers over 60-degree programs and non-degree certificates across 19 academic units, providing a diverse array of courses that provide multiple pathways to meet degree requirements. The primary objective of this role will be to visually map requirements such as course prerequisites, dependencies, college mandated, elective, breadth using Lucid software. This mapping methodology must be carefully documented for routine review and replication. The final visual program maps will aid the Academic Program Review process, will support the departments in preparing self-study documents and will assist the College in addressing external review feedback. The maps will be regularly assessed to ensure that course offerings consistently meet program requirements while offering students diverse options. The up-to-date maps will be a helpful resource for departments and programs when planning their course offerings for the coming year and for facilitating the class build work that happens each spring. This program mapping project is a short-term investment that will support streamlining programs and improving clarity of prerequisites, gateway courses, and program outcomes within the College of Arts and Sciences. Nature of Work: This is a temporary, short-term position reporting to the College General Manager, working closely with leaders and staff within the Office of the Dean. It requires strong attention to detail, independent judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively. The pace of work will be project-driven with defined timelines. Accountabilities: Develop visual program maps for departmental programs using Lucid software Mapping program structures to identify prerequisites, required courses, restricted electives, College Learning Requirements, and cognate requirements Maintain organized documentation and version control for all program maps Utilize the online course catalogue to inform mapping work Document processes to enable easy updates and regular maintenance of program maps Highlight duplication or inconsistent/inefficient pathways based on mapping insights Education: Completion of Grade 12 and at least one year of a recognized post-secondary program in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered  Experience: Familiarity with visualization tools (, Lucidchart, Visio) and data organization Experience with academic program design or curriculum mapping is an asset Skills: Proficiency in Lucid software and other visualization tools Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to interpret academic program requirements and translate them into visual representations Effective communication and collaboration skills Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
