Compensation: $43,000-$55,000 annual salary (based on experience)
Hours of Work: 40 hours/week (may include evenings and weekends)

**Organization Overview**
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is one of Canada’s longest-standing institutions and is deeply embedded in the history and unfolding story of our country. The RCMP and its symbols - the “red serge”, Mounties on horseback, and the Musical Ride - have become icons of Canadian Heritage familiar around the world.
The RCMP Heritage Centre represents a rich space for historical preservation, exploration of alternate perspectives, and the pursuit of reconciliation. It has become a major destination centre that celebrates the traditions and history of the RCMP. More recently, the RCMP Heritage Centre is embarking on an exciting new chapter of its own story by undergoing the process to become established as a national museum in Canada, embracing a new vision with social impact.

**Position Overview**
The Administrative and Operational assistant plays a key role in supporting the high-capacity of the organization by supporting and leading administrative excellence across the organization. Your organizational skills, passion for process, and curiosity for solving problems will offer integral support to the senior leadership team and to our day to day operations.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Provide leadership in office management and confidential administrative support to the CEO and leadership team including;
- Oversight on the CEO’s calendar and scheduling meetings as needed
- Keeping the CEO informed of upcoming commitments and appointments
- Research/gathering documents, dossiers, or information for meetings
- Arrange travel plans, itineraries and agendas
- Ongoing support of the CEO and Director of Strategic Initiatives in preparing for and supporting Board and committee meetings, including, but not limited to;
- Coordinate facility/event arrangements
- Research/gathering documents, dossiers, or information for meetings
- Notification and confirmation of attendance
- Distribution of materials (agendas, minutes, etc.)
- Recording minutes at Board and committee meetings and distributing as directed
- You will assist in supporting a collaborative, respectful, and team-oriented culture by demonstrating respect, patience, and a helping hand.
- Your organizational skills will help keep things moving smoothly. You’ll be responsible for these duties (but not limited to); ordering office supplies, mail distribution, coordinating deliveries, file management, storage and archiving files, and ensuring spaces (kitchen, board room, etc.) are appropriately stocked.
- You will be responsible for making our guests feel welcome and creating an inviting experience by ensuring meeting spaces are properly stocked and/or prepared before and after meetings.
- You will play an integral role in onboarding new staff, and assisting with set-up of their desk space and digital spaces/accounts.
- Liaising with our vendors (payroll administrator, accountants, office supply, computer/IT, etc.) as needed/directed.
- At times, with guidance or direction, you will lead special projects such as; research and providing/preparing findings to the CEO/Director of Strategic Initiatives, acquiring licenses or new software or systems, developing or implementing new processes, recommending or purchasing equipment, etc.
- At times you will assist the operations or visitor staff in setting up, preparing for events, or decorating.
**Qualifications**
- 5 years experience in an administrative role, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- A diploma or degree in business administration, or a related professional designation would be considered an asset.
- Bilingual fluency (English/French) would be considered a strong asset.
- Must have experience with Office 365.
- Must have database experience.
- Experience working with or supporting a Board of Directors will be considered an asset.
