The Controller is an essential part of Cygnus’ team and oversees bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, time-off requests, client invoices, insurance policies, rent agreements, and routine financial reports.

**Banking/Bookkeeping**
- Oversee AP/AR
- Reconcile bank statements with Quickbooks online
- Manage and pay government taxes
- Annual compilation of financial statements for external accountant

**Payroll**
- Setup new employees and file required forms
- Manage payroll in Payworks software
- Manage Sunlife and company extended health benefits
- Manage/approve time-off requests and maintain company spreadsheets

**Invoicing**
- Issue client invoices from Quickbooks and sync to company PM software
- Routine follow-up with clients on unpaid invoices

**Insurance**
- Oversee insurance policy renewal
- Manage client requests for co-insured COI issuance

**Reports**
- Produce monthly and YTD reports
- Maintain Cygnus P&L Forecast and Cygnus vital signs reports

**Project Setup**
- Add new projects to PM software and Quickbooks online
- Add projections to sales spreadsheet
- 10-15 years of experience in a similar role
- Prior experience in a similar role at a 15+ person company
- Excellent understanding of MS Excel and Quickbooks Online
- Experience using Google products including Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs
- Appreciation and/or work experience in an architecture or design firm
- Experience with Mavenlink or Payworks is a benefit
