**Safety Coordinator - Critical Environments**

The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the Health and Safety program, supporting a culture of continuous improvement in all facets of Health and Safety. Executing corporate strategies and critical programs that support Price’s commitment to safety excellence. The Safety coordinator will recommend and implement plans based on recent safety audit results and will ensure that all policies and programs meet legislated requirements. Responsibilities will include delivering safety training to a diverse work environment, assisting with hazard identification and the development of safe work procedures. Maintaining all safety programs and providing day-to-day guidance and advice.
- Orient new employees on safety policies
- Ensure safety and compliance is observed at all levels
- Implement approved safety practices and policies
- Participate on the Safety Committee
- Take any necessary action to maintain overall safe practices and procedures,
- Provide necessary training, leadership, organization and control to meet company goals
- Ensure each level of management is properly informed of all activities relative to compliance with company safety policies
- Ensure all equipment and buildings comply with all safety regulations and any other Provincial or Federal regulations
- Observe equipment and property conditions and report discrepancies to appropriate managers
- Monitor and measure effectiveness of all safety programs and documentation as required and ensure all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines
- Participate in the maintenance of the Cross Training Matrix records as it relates to safety training
- Conduct investigations as necessary to assist with liability, determination, and causation
- Monitor the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards
- Evaluate site processes and equipment to determine controls needed to keep workers safe.
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
- Occupational Health and Safety Degree, Diploma, Certificate or CRSP
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Safety Coordinator
- Previous experience in manufacturing work environment is a must
- Experience in research, analysis, interpretation and implementation of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices as they pertain to manufacturing
- Understand and have complete knowledge of all Provincial and Federal safety rules and regulations
- Direct experience assessing training needs, creating training materials to fulfill those needs and delivering training
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
