Job Summary: Responsible for all basic Human Resources functions in collaboration with community leaders as well as members of the Staff-Associate Services division in each of the primary communities assigned to you and throughout the company as required on a day-to-day basis. HR responsibilities include but are not limited to, hiring, training, retention, policy/legal compliance, performance management and investigations.

**Key Responsibilities**:Act as the primary HR representative in 4 of our 8 Calgary communities.
- **Recruitment & Onboarding**: Supporting the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new employees.
- **Employee Relations**: Foster a positive work environment and assisting management with all Human Resources related topics and providing direction including positively addressing employee concerns, coaching line managers on resolving conflicts directly when possible, and stepping in to assist where necessary.
- **Policy Development**: Utilizing support from the HR executives, developing and implementing HR policies and procedures that align with the company culture and goals.
- **Training & Development**: Identify training needs and create development programs that support employee career growth.
- **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with provincial and federal employment laws and regulations.
- **Culture & Engagement**: Promote a strong company culture through team building, employee engagement initiatives, and recognition programs.
- **Strategic Planning**: Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives and contribute to strategic planning.
**Qualifications**
- **Experience**: Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR generalist or similar role, preferably in a startup environment.
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or a related field. or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- **HR Knowledge**: Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations as well as employment common-law practices in Canada.
- **Business Acumen**: Strong business acumen to align HR strategies with business goals and contribute to the company's overall success.
- **Skills**: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. French is not required but additional languages would be an asset.
- **Adaptability**: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities while diving in where necessary to keep things moving smoothly. This role will be asked to perform a wide variety of tasks typical of a small HR team.
- **Problem-solving**: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information tactfully and pragmatically.
- **Technology**: Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite. (DocuSign would be an asset.).
- **Security and Safety**: Criminal record check with vulnerable sector clearance is required. Familiarity with WCB processes and investigations would be an asset.
This is a full-time in-office role based in Calgary. Frequent travel to other manors within Calgary and possible travel to London, Ontario may be required.

Benefits: Benefit package, plus a health/lifestyle spending account, EAP, Additional paid time off.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8AM - 4:30 (With occasional flexibility to meet the needs of our colleagues.)
Education: Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Experience: Human resources: 3 years (required) CHRP designation is an asset.
Work Location: In person South Calgary manor with travel to other manors in the city.
