**Position**:Administrative Assistant - Child Care Programs**
**Type: Permanent, Full-Time**
**Location**: 422 Sixth Street, New Westminster
**Salary**: $20.00/hour
**Hours of Work**: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
**Closing Date**:Until the position filled
**Job Summary**:Assists the Coordinator of Child Care Programs manage the administration of the Society’s child care programs.
**Qualifications**:
- Some post-secondary education in Business Administration, Communications or Marketing and/or training in office administration and procedures
- One to two years previous experience in an office/administrative role
- Knowledge of child care services administration
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Required criminal record search
**Requirements**:
- Ability to work effectively with program staff, volunteers, and Society employees
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to answer and handle telephone and in-person enquires effectively and professionally
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of child care and child development an asset
- Experience working in a social service setting an asset
- Ability to perform moderate physical activities
- Perform other duties, as required, including light reception duties
- The use of a vehicle may be required for this position to travel between centers
