Mental Wellness Program Manager

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Health Programs, the Mental Wellness Program Manager will carry out the duties and responsibilities as team lead for the Mental Wellness Team. It is the Program Manager’s responsibility to ensure the highest standards in programming and delivery are maintained. This position will manage and coordinate the following Mental Wellness Programs: Brighter Futures (BF), Building Healthy Communities (BHC), Indian Residential School/ Indian Day School (IRS/IDS), and National Aboriginal Youth Suicide Prevention Strategy (NAYSPS), MMIWG Murdered Missing Indigenous Women and Girls, Crisis Response and NNADAP programming funding, program delivery and work plans
**Duties**:
- Maintaining trusting, respectful, and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and community Health programs.
- Monitoring and evaluating the Mental Health, BF/BHC, NNADAP and IRS/IDS program objectives and activities and ensuring that services are culturally appropriate and safe.
- Maintain consistency in standard protocols, policy, and provincial legislation, as well as, that Wellness Staff are also compliant.
- Overseeing all aspects of program development, delivery, and program evaluation
- Participating in the recruitment, hiring, and termination process regarding Mental Health and Addictions Management, specialist staff and contracted professional therapists and consultants.
- Working with wellness staff(s) to ensure excellence in programming and delivery of effective management of mental health and addiction needs, setting program priorities, implementing planning and practice
- Preparing reports for funders and liaising with referring sources and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee and manage each program budget, work plans and service agreements
- Ensuring all reporting is completed for each program area.
- Providing ongoing, one-on-one guidance and support to staff, participants & community health staff
- Ensure that program-related workshops, services programs and other community and social service programs
- Participating in Committee Meetings and being accountable to directives from the Board of Directors and Executive Director
- Providing advice to the Executive Director and Community Health Directors on matters concerning the quality and delivery of Mental Health and Addictions Services.
- Implement and organize the delivery of specific services within the community
- Liaise/maintain contact with other social service agencies and health care providers involved with clients to provide information and obtain feedback on staff performance and clients' overall progress. Coordinate and supervise the Case Management of client services.
- Provide supervision, written probationary evaluations, written performance checklists and annual evaluations of all Wellness Staff in the Mental Health, IRS & NNADAP, and other specialist staff under the Wellness Program.
- Any other related duties assigned by leadership
**Requirements**:
- Degree/Master’s in Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services.
- Knowledge of Federal/Provincial/Local Health Care Systems and Social Services
- Ability to deal with and work with highly sensitive and confidential information in compliance to PHIA/PHIPA.
- Experience in working with First Nation families and communities.
- At least 5 years of experience in program management
- Knowledge of centralized Client Intake Processes and Practices
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate.
- First Aid/CPR Certificate.
- Suicide Prevention and Intervention
- Case management and the development of integrated care plans.
- High level of organizational, administrative, and facilitative skills.
- Life skills coaching training will be an asset.
