**About the Role**

Reporting to the VP Inclusive Communities, the Director, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Knowledge Translation and Institutional Accountability is responsible for overseeing the translation of (EDI) knowledge into practices, designing, planning, and leading the implementation of small and large evaluations to assess the progress, outcomes, and impact of EDI initiatives across Sheridan.

As Sheridan structures equity, diversity and inclusion as an institutional priority, data-driven decisions are at the core of all operations. The incumbent uses large data sets (qualitative and quantitative) to find opportunities for optimization and leverages appropriate models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. The incumbent partners with Sheridan data holders (Institutional Planning and Analysis (IPA), Registrar, Faculties, Student Affairs, etc.) to obtain data analysis and insights to drive timely, data-driven, and effective decisions in order to drive equity excellence.

As the lead for evaluating and reporting EDI outcomes, the incumbent collaborates cross-functionally with colleagues and stakeholders at Sheridan and develops strategic action plans and utilizes relevant EDI benchmarking tracking tools.

The incumbent will ensure that various EDI charter agreements are adhered to and is responsible for EDI institutional reporting and accountability.

The incumbent leads similar work with Sheridan’s partner organizations.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Overseeing the process of overall EDI benchmarking and coordinates with other plans including strategic plan, Academic plan, unit plans, multi-year plans such as accessibility and EDI Council’s multi-year action plan.
- Overseeing and coordinates the creation of reports which translate complex data into easy to understand and accessible stories and messages to assist departments and faculties to strategically infuse the values of equity, diversity and inclusion into departmental priorities.
- Overseeing the EDI census, including the ongoing process of data reporting and related action plans emanating from such data.
- In partnership with relevant stakeholders developing and overseeing an accountability mechanism that promotes the achievement of EDI goals informed by Sheridan’s Equity statement, EDI framework, benchmarking tool(s) and EDI Action Plan.
- Representing the Office of Inclusive Communities externally especially organizations where Sheridan has signed charter agreements.
- Supporting Sheridan’s partner organizations seeking to advance their EDI maturity journey through an EDI data informed lens.
- Building capacity for EDI in Research through assessment of mentorship programs and transitioning to the Research Office and providing necessary ongoing support; leading or contributing to projects and initiatives designed to build capacity and enhance EDI within Sheridan’s research enterprise.
- Designing, planning, and implementing high-quality applied research, evaluation and/or baseline studies for EDI related projects.
- Pursuing external funding to support research EDI initiatives or research projects in EDI
- Participating in other projects and initiatives as required.
