**Job Summary**

This role is well-suited for an existing student studying programs such as Social Service Worker, Child & Youth Care, Education Assistant, Psychology, or Nursing who is looking for hands-on experience

**Duties**
- Provide safe, supportive respite care for a neurodiverse child
- Communicate using an AAC device (TouchChat) to support the child’s needs
- Engage the child in fun, age-appropriate activities (play, games, outings, sensory activities)
- Encourage social and communication skills through supported interaction
- Maintain open communication with the family about progress and concerns
- Able to walk the child and go swimming with them.

**Experience**
- Experience working with neurodiverse children (autism, ADHD, speech/language delays, etc.)
- Ability to use and support communication via AAC devices (TouchChat preferred)
- Patient, reliable, and enthusiastic about supporting child development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Criminal Record Check (with vulnerable sector check) required

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 per week

Work Location: In person
