Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Support Worker to join our team

You will support seniors with daily living while promoting independence comfort and well being

Live in and live out options are available

Duties

Provide companionship and meaningful presence to reduce loneliness

Offer emotional support through listening reassurance and empathy

Engage clients in conversation reading and shared activities

Support cognitive health through games puzzles memory activities and gentle mental exercises

Encourage participation in hobbies and interests meaningful to the client

Accompany clients on walks and light physical activities as appropriate

Support ADL's

Assist with meal planning preparation and encouragement with eating

Support social connection with family friends and community

Observe mood or behavior changes and report to the care team

Encourage independence while offering support when needed

Light housekeeping related to client care such as tidying client areas and laundry

Transportation support such as accompanying clients to appointments or errands when required

Requirements

Home Support Worker or Health Care Assistant/Registered Care Aide certification preferred

Minimum 1 year professional caregiving experience required

Experience with personal care mobility support and transfers

Compassionate patient and dependable attitude

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work live in or live out shifts

Additional language skills are an asset to support client communication

Schedule

Part time or casual

Flexible scheduling

Live in roles include designated rest periods and follow employment standards

Pay will be discussed based on experience and assigned client needs
