BCW Traffic Management Ltd. is a leading traffic control company in BC looking for a seasoned HSE Manager who will work closely with ownership and management team in the pursuit of successful execution of BCW safety and training strategy. As a key member of the management team, the Manager will have the opportunity to have influence on the safety, training, operational performance, profitability, and positioning for the future. This position reports to the General Manager of BCW Traffic Management Ltd.

**Responsibilities**:
A HSE Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety of employees in the workplace. This position plays a critical role in establishing, maintaining, and improving health and safety protocols within an organization. Their work involves various tasks, including training employees, conducting regular safety inspections, enforcing safety guidelines, and addressing potential safety issues.
- Accountability for health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Develop and enforce safe work procedures.
- Ensure BCW operation is in compliance with regulations and laws.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance and mentoring to safety committee members.
- Investigate health and safety issues, conducts safety inspections.
- Responds to WorkSafe BC compliance orders and provides direction to implement corrective action and monitors and confirms that action has been implemented.
- Processes WorkSafe BC claims.
- Establish an effective mentoring program with field staff.
- Develops communication material.
- Participate in educating managers, staff and the Union on safety programs and processes.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, unions and external contacts.
- Identify and report system weaknesses. Provide solutions to address health and safety concerns.
- Handle jobs outside current safety procedures.
- Address unsafe acts and conditions.
- Conduct daily inspections and site internal audits. Provide reports to upper management.
- Oversee equipment and tool safety.
- Induct new employees.
- Provide On-The-Job safety training.
- Monitor employee health.
- Enforce PPE Usage.
- Handle serious injuries and incidents.
- Investigate accidents and provide reports to upper management.
- Check for operational changes to ensures policies and procedures are relevant to.
- Maintain safety signs, boards, and equipment.
- Lead BCW COR certification process.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor/diploma in related field.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in similar role,
- Deep understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Familiarity with terms and policies of BC construction industry.
- Experience related to traffic control or road construction work activities is preferred.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence strategy and collaborate with company leadership.
- Comfortable multi-tasking, working under pressure, and managing tight timelines.
- Flexible, willing to travel.
- Familiarity with project management and budgeting.
- First aid, CPR, and any other relevant medical training.
- CSO/NCSO designation
- **Previous working experience with WorkSafeBC is a strong asset.**

Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
