We currently have an opening for an ambitious **HSE Coordinator**in our **Surrey BC**branch. This full-time position offers tremendous growth opportunities, including diverse projects, supported career development, and potential for advancement.
This role also works with customers to identify their need, recommend products and services, process customer orders, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of project correspondence, and troubleshoot or answer questions throughout the process. The incumbent aims to be a product expert in order to best serve customers.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the coordination and implementation of company-wide HSE programs, ensuring consistent compliance across fabrication shops, warehouses, installation teams, and corporate operations.
- Prepare for and lead COR audits, maintaining all required documentation, performing internal audits, and working with stakeholders to close corrective actions.
- Develop, review, and maintain Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), and Field-Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) to ensure site-specific risks are identified, communicated, and mitigated.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits, both planned and unplanned, to identify hazards, evaluate controls, and drive continuous improvement.
- Investigate all workplace incidents, near misses, and injuries, coordinating root cause analyses, reporting to regulatory bodies as required, and tracking corrective actions to closure.
- Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local safety regulations, proactively adjusting internal programs as legislation evolves.
- Support and coach site leadership and frontline staff on safe work practices, behavioral safety, and compliance with company policies.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions, ensuring all team members are engaged and informed about safety protocols and updates.
- Coordinate and monitor return-to-work and modified duty programs in collaboration with HR and WCB case managers, ensuring timely and supportive reintegration of injured workers.
- Lead or support emergency response planning and drills, ensuring each site is prepared for fire, medical, and environmental incidents.
- Ensure safety-related equipment inspections and certifications (e.g., fall protection, ladders, forklifts) are current and documented.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, including training logs, inspection reports, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring readiness for external audits.
- Serve as the point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors related to HSE matters.
- Promote a strong safety culture by being visible in the field, building trust, and supporting team members in making safe decisions every day.
- Drive safety improvements using data analysis, key performance indicators, and trending tools to monitor performance and recommend program enhancements.
- When needed, support and assist with HR administration including drafting HR documents (compensation changes, promotion documents, Employment verifications etc).
- When needed, assist and support human resources by educating employees on company policies and programs, on policy interpretation, company practices and expectations
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field considered an asset.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in doors, frames & hardware, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments.
- Solid understanding of workers’ compensation legislation and return-to-work protocols.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
- First Aid Certification an asset.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
