Surrey, Canada Mainland Group of Companies Full time

We're Hiring**:Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Administrator**

Are you passionate about workplace safety, continuous learning, and making a real impact on the ground? Mainland is currently seeking a Health, Safety & Environment Administrator to join our growing team. We’re looking for the right individual—not just a resume. If you bring curiosity, drive, and a strong commitment to health and safety, we want to hear from you.

**About the Opportunity**

This full-time position will support our Civil, Shoring & Excavation, and Energy divisions, offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on HSE experience across a diverse range of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Working closely with the HSE Manager, you'll help ensure our crews have the knowledge, tools, and systems they need to work safely and meet both regulatory and internal safety standards. This role is ideal for someone who is early in their HSE career and eager to grow their skills in compliance, incident investigation, data analysis, root cause analysis, and more.

At Mainland, our people are our greatest asset. We’re proud to foster a respectful, supportive, and team-driven environment where safety, accountability, and quality are top priorities. We believe in recognizing talent, supporting growth, and having some fun along the way.

**As HSE Administrator, you will**:

- Champion a positive safety culture across job sites in all three divisions.
- Support site supervisors in implementing and managing the Mainland HSE Program.
- Monitor HSE practices on-site to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in regular safety inspections, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments.
- Assist in accident, incident, and near-miss investigations—including root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
- Support onboarding of employees and subcontractors through safety orientations and PPE training (including respirator fit testing).
- Organize and participate in emergency response drills and Joint Health & Safety Committee activities.
- Help identify safety concerns and contribute to solutions that drive improvement.
- Manage and update safety data, documents, and compliance platforms such as ISNET, Avetta, etc.
- Travel to multiple active sites and maintain strong, professional relationships with site teams.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Some post-secondary education or training in administration, health & safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- A general interest in workplace safety and a willingness to learn safety procedures and regulations.
- Previous experience in an administrative or office support role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail—especially when handling paperwork, scheduling, or data entry.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to quickly adapt to other software.
- Good communication skills and a professional, positive attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and clean driving record (you’ll occasionally visit job sites).

**Compensation & Benefits**
- Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000/year (based on experience and qualifications)
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Opportunities for career advancement, mentorship, and industry training
