Michelle Cohen & Associates (MCA) is a community-based speech-language pathology private practice with over 25 years of experience providing contextualized interventions_. _We partner with clients, families, rehabilitation teams and communities to maximize life participation and social success. MCA supports children, adolescents and adults, contributing to their everyday success in social participation, family interactions, vocational and academic pursuits. Our clients range from those with mild ABI /concussion to those requiring more complex supports, such as augmentative and alternative communication and errorless learning.

MCA is comprised of a group of highly skilled, dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologists (S-LP’s) and Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDA’s).

MCA offers services in the GTA and surrounding areas as well as other areas including Northumberland, Barrie, Lindsay, Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston, Niagara Region, and more.

**Position Description**:
The Communicative Disorders Assistant works under the direction of qualified Speech-Language Pathologists. Responsibilities include facilitating the delivery of speech-language pathology services for our clients.

**Responsibilities**:

- To support the recommendations made by SLPs regarding speech and language programming, resources, accommodations, and modifications for individuals with communication difficulties involving listening, speaking, reading and/or writing.
- To demonstrate accountability for CDA professional practice standards and in

accordance with established MCA policies and procedures.

*Note: The CDA is NOT able to conduct evaluations, interpret data or perform any task without the express knowledge and approval of the supervising SLP*

**Required Skills Include**:

- Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and have access to own transportation.

**Qualifications**:

- Related diploma or degree and Communication Disorders Assistant Graduate Certificate is required.
- Registration with the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada (CDACC)
- Minimum one-year related experience is an asset
- Knowledge and training in augmentative communication is an asset

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $50.00-$53.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Greater Toronto Area, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Work Location: One location
