Supply Chain and Logistics Manager

**About the role**
The Supply Chain and Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the company's supply chain, ensuring efficient and cost-effective processes from procurement to delivery. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners (domestic and international).
**Responsibilities**
**Leadership**
- Assign tasks and monitor workload distribution to ensure delivery deadlines are met efficently
- Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members
- Develop and implement supply chain & logistic strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
- Lead inventory capacity analyses to support strategic decisions (e.g., forecast monthly capacity, identifying aged products, making recommendations to optimize existing capacity, etc.)
- Work with the engineering and manufacturing leaders to provide value-added lean solutions for material flow and handling
- Identify continuous business improvement opportunities and develop appropriate procurement strategies and plans to support RAM’s short
- Manage contract life cycle by monitoring contract terms, leading contract extension initiatives and negotiating terms and conditions of contract renewal
- Investigate trends in materials and supply prices, recommend the timing and quantity of purchases and establish economical purchase quantities
- Will be responsible for the implementation of a new ERP for the department
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment
**Procurement**
- Identify, assess, and manage relationships with global suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of goods and services
- Identify opportunities and develop strategies to improve the performance of the vendor supply chain and related buying experience
- Monitor open POs and blanket orders and adjust inventory as necessary
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships, create value-added services, and drive cost reductions and quality improvement while minimizing risk exposure
- Manage the continuous needs/resources balance (Eg:Kanban) for raw material, components, sub-assemblies, and finished products
- Monitor and analyse market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments
- Participate in production meetings with various other functions of RAM
**Inventory Planning & Control**
- Responsible for control inventory levels ensuring sufficient stock is available to meet business needs, as well as maintaining accurate stock records as per company internal controls (Cycle Counts, Physical Inventory, Inventory Reconciliation)
- Ensure the quality and consistency of key data: lead time, quantity, stocking process
- Report on part shortages to avoid manufacturing disruption.
- Play a key role in our yearly physical inventory process as well as inventory positioning and determination of daily production requirements for RAM products.
- Maintain and adjust inventory management parameters to support ramp-up and ramp-down activities, ensuring target service levels and minimizing excess stock
**Logistics Management**
- Directly responsible for overseeing Shipping, Receiving, and Packaging team members, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations
- Plan and coordinate all outbound and inbound shipments, taking into account product characteristics, transportation methods, and cost-efficiency
- Manage and optimize international and domestic transportation and distribution activities
- Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers and logistics service providers to support shipping and receiving functions
- Identify, monitor and control logistics-related costs, including transportation, packaging materials, storage, and handling
- Ensure operational procedures are effective, with optimal space utilization and maintenance of packaging and shipping equipment
- Develop and maintain processes and procedures for the efficient receipt, storage, packaging, and shipment of materials
- Work closely with the finance team to develop and implement procedures for documenting and reporting any damage promptly
- Investigate root causes of shipping related issues leading to damages or losses
**Customs and Regulatory Compliance**:
- Stay informed about international trade regulations and customs procedures
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in the movement of goods
**Risk Management**:
- Identify and assess global supply chain risks and develop strategies for mitigation
- Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry best practices
**Skills & Qualifications**
- Proven experience of 7 years in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Procurement Designation, SCMP is an asset
- Previous experience or knowledge in implementing an ERP system is an asset
