**Job description**

We are seeking compassionate, attentive companions to care for, and assist our clients to lead safe, healthy lives. Relieve-Me companions will provide emotional support as clients age, heal, cope with their mental well being, disabilities, sickness, or surgery. Companions will; talk to, encourage and support clients, prepare meals with clients, remind clients to take medication, help clients engage in activities and social events, and perform other tasks to help clients feel safe, supported, and not alone. Relieve-Me companions should have strong communication and planning skills and be willing to meet the physical demands of the position and comply with all safety, medical, and dietary directions. The following list of duties is a guideline of possible duties to be performed but not limited.
- Engaging clients by conversing with them and planning and attending to them as they participate in appropriate social activities and hobbies.
- Planning and preparing meals with clients, taking dietary restrictions, and preferences into consideration.
- Taking a genuine interest in clients by listening to their needs, ensuring that their environment is safe, and providing them with proper food.
- Accompanying clients to planned outings or events.
- Providing emotional support for clients as they heal or cope with their conditions.
- Recording and reporting any developments or concerns to appropriate parties, such as company supervisors, family members.

**Previous experience in supporting individuals is preferred, as well as an understanding of mental health disorders, and an ability to take direction well.**

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of mental health disorders and experience working with such issues.
- Excellent references and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication, listening, and reasoning skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting or supporting clients and standing, walking, bending, or crawling for extended periods.
- First aid CPR.
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector check.
- Caring, sympathetic approach to working with clients.
- Willingness to follow directions and adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and dietary, exercise, and medication plans.
- Experience using lift and transfer equipment.
- Covid-19 Vaccination.
- Willingness to travel to different locations.
- Reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work shifts.
