We are seeking individuals with a passion for helping others and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment. Individuals who become Relieve-Me Personal Support Workers will be responsible for 1:1 hands on client support with their daily activities as they meet their goals.

**Previous experience in supporting individuals is preferred, as well as an understanding of mental health disorders, and an ability to take direction well.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Take care of clients by providing comfort and valuable service including but not limited to meal preparation, hygiene, bathing, dressing and minor household tasks.
- Provide care to clients with mental health disorders, the elderly, injured or limited mobility, and those suffering from chronic conditions.
- Provide peace of mind and much-needed relief and respite to their family members and relatives.
- Confer with Relieve-Me Supervisors to discuss client care needs and new developments.
- Provide respite care for families.
- Be part of a health care team.

Assist clients to maintain, and remain in their homes with duties not limited to;
- Grooming and hygiene, medication assistance, safety checks, dementia care, mobility, toileting.
- Arrange, remind and/or escort clients to medical, psychiatric, dental and diagnostic appointments and/or treatments.
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. (French and other languages are considered an asset.)
- Excellent note taking and writing/typing skills and knowledge to update client files accordingly, keep accurate records, and document daily information.
- Ability to work independently and make sound responsible decisions, and play an important role as part of an interdisciplinary team immediately reporting client concerns.

**Qualifications**:

- Personal Support Worker or equivalent Certification.
- Knowledge of mental health disorders, including depressive disorders, and several years’ experience working with people with mental health issues.
- Certificates in First Aid and CPR.
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector check.
- Ability to work shifts.
- Experience using lift and transfer equipment.
- Covid-19 Vaccination.
- Willingness to travel to different locations.
- Reliable vehicle.
- *Working in an environment where there may be smoke and, or pets may be required._
