Kinnect Support Services is a trusted staffing partner to a wide range of social service organizations across Ontario. We provide skilled, compassionate relief staff to agencies that support individuals with developmental, emotional, behavioural, physical, and psychiatric challenges.
**Position Overview**
We are seeking qualified **Social Service Workers**, **Developmental Support Workers**, **Child and Youth Workers**, or individuals with a related background to join our team in a group home setting. In this role, you will work with youth and adults living with developmental disabilities, many with dual diagnoses and complex needs.
You will help implement behavioural support plans and daily programming, providing both hands-on care and emotional support to individuals in a structured home environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Implement individual behaviour support plans and assist with daily routines
- Provide hands-on care, including personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, and showering
- Encourage clients to work towards their personal goals and celebrate milestones
- Promote self-expression and communication using both verbal and alternative communication methods
- Use effective problem-solving and collaboration skills to contribute to a team-oriented environment
- Support crisis interventions, including physical restraints when required (training provided)
- Accurately complete daily logs, observations, and incident reports
- Facilitate participation in recreational, social, educational, and community-based activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and structured living environment
**Qualifications**
- Diploma or Degree in **DSW, SSW, CYC, Psychology**, or a related social services field (required)
- Prior experience supporting individuals with **ASD, dual diagnosis**, or mental health challenges, preferably in residential care
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and various rotating schedules
- Strong observation and reporting skills
- Demonstrated experience or training in behavioural interventions and support
**Required Certifications & Documents**
- Valid **Standard First Aid & CPR Level C** (required)
- Valid or willingness to obtain **UMAB (3-day Crisis Intervention Training)**:
- **Vulnerable Sector Check** (completed within the past 12 months or willingness to obtain)
- Up-to-date **Immunization Records**, **COVID-19 (2 doses minimum)**, and **TB Test**

**Job Type**: Part-time / Casual
**Shift Availability**:
- 12-hour shifts
- Morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
