**Job Purpose**

Reporting to the Youth Programs Manager, the Youth Programs Coordinator is responsible for planning and leading appropriate activities for youth ages 9 -18. In addition, the Youth Program Coordinator helps to create and curate a safe, positive, and open environment where youth feel empowered, respected, and supported. As a frontline worker, the Youth Programs Coordinator relates well with youth, families, and other community members.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Plan, implement, lead and evaluate fun, safe and age-appropriate activities for various programs and demographics in accordance with Club policies and vision, including the implementation and evaluation of BGC Canada programs (Learn On, Respect2Connect, etc.) and utilize program resources provided by BGC Canada.
- Working from a trauma informed approach, oversee the daily management of youth groups, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. This position involves planning and executing group activities, managing group dynamics, promoting appropriate positive behaviour, ensuring safety and supporting the developmental and emotional needs of diverse participants in a structured setting.
- Responsible for maintaining effective relationships within the community.
- Maintains awareness of, and effectively deal with any youth issues, problems, incidents or crisis situations, providing support and feedback to youth and their family when appropriate, and reporting any necessary information to the Manager/Director or outside agencies.
- Ensure that any equipment or facilities used to help facilitate the delivery of the program plan are safe, free from risk, and are left in good condition after usage.
- Work cooperatively as a key member of an integrated youth staff team that consistently strives for consistency, inclusion, excellence and effective conflict resolution amongst staff and participants. The coordinator will ensure smooth group dynamics, facilitating 1-on-1 and group conflict resolution, and creating a supportive and respectful environment
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new trends in activities programming and youth issues specific to the Central Vancouver Island area.
- Participate in program evaluation and individual goal setting as required by policy and/or funding requirements & support the Learning and Impact process.
- Participate in training that will enhance skill development and effective safety & support of youth in the programs offered including organizational and department training opportunities. Performs other related duties as required.
- **Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities**
- Maintain and complete accurate and timely program records as required - daily attendance, Club logbook, activity statistics, participant demographics, incident reports.
- Collect, maintain and ensure model fidelity for all client electronic & physical file requirements in alignment with policy, program expectations, activity requirements including but not limited to registration forms, permission forms and consents.
- Completes all administrative tasks and responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner including but not limited to mileage, expenses, and acknowledgements. Works with the manager/director to ensure all spending and program limits are adhered to.
- Leads measurable impact and outcome deliverables for youth programs at BGCCVI as identified on Walker Grids. Supports the distribution, completion and collection of program surveys, pre post surveys and organizational outcome measurement initiatives as required by funders, BGC Canada and/or organizational initiatives and projects. Support the Youth Programs Manager in onboarding, supervising, and managing youth program staff and volunteers/practicum students. This includes but is not limited to creating staff schedules, providing manager back up and acting as a formal support and resource for program staff.
