**SUMMARY**

This administrative position is responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate processing, data entry and responding to vendors and clients.

**POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Prepare and process payments as required (cheques, EFT's, credit cards, wires).
- Prepare and check all vendor invoices and obtain appropriate approval.
- Print all accounts payable reports and maintain all accounts payable files.
- Prepare accounts receivable statements and respond to inquiries.
- Monitor overdue accounts and outstanding balances.
- Assist with month end reporting and closing.
- May be required to assist with reception.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Ability to independently and meet deadlines.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 1 year accounting experience
- Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite and preference to those with dealership software experience.

**SUPERVISION**RECEIVED**

The incumbent receives clear job expectations, appraisal of job contributions, and coordination of daily work activities and assigned work and inspection of completed work as required from the Controller.

**DEMANDS**

In performing the position duties and responsibilities, the Incumbent may be faced with the following demands:

- Physical Demands: The position exposes the Account Receivable / Account Payable Clerk to physical hazards from sitting for long periods at a desk and computer screen.
- Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; pay high attention to detail and organization, proficiency with financial software and strong independent research ability.
