**SUMMARY**:
The **Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary Downtown/Beltline District** has 390 modern long-stay suites and caters to business and family leisure travellers looking for an extended-stay hotel as well as to groups and meeting attendees with a 10,000 sq. ft. Conference Centre. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the **HR Coordinator** will assist with a variety of HR functions including the organization of daily office activities such as employee requests and other administrative tasks.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist associates with questions and requests in a timely manner.
- Create and update Human Resources bulletin boards and other posting locations as needed.
- Explain details of various benefits to associates as required and assist with enrollment, change and claims forms.
- Monitor and ensure efficient flow of recruitment process.
- Communicate hotel job openings internally and externally, via bulletin board postings, the telephone job line, etc.
- Understand and consistently support the enforcement of all company HR policies and practices.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all associates in all hotel departments.
- Be ready to assist guests should an occasion arise, providing the highest level of service and friendliness.
- Perform various clerical duties such as but not limited to filing, data entry, answering telephone, managing stationary orders and supplies, etc.
- Book the training room when required and prepare training, orientation and recruitment packages.
- Print and assemble name tags.
- Maintain associate files.
- Prepare new hire packages.
- Assist with payroll functions.
- Assist with HR-related projects and initiatives.
- Assist other departments during busy times when an “all call” has been initiated.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a professional image at all times.
- Project enthusiastic, optimistic, helpful attitude.
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by department heads/senior managers.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:.
- Previous experience in a Hotel preferred.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources/ or in view strongly preferred.
- Payroll knowledge and/or experience an asset.
- Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment and the ability to use discretion and diplomacy while maintaining confidentiality, ethics and company standards.
- Excellent organizational, follow-through and workload planning skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.
- Flexibility to re-prioritize daily demands and priorities.
- Proactive and collaborative team player with a strong customer service focus.
- Proficient word processing skills using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, and clear.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight time constraints.
- Command of the English language both written and verbal required.
- Extremely detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated self-confidence, energy, enthusiasm, friendliness and approachability.
- Ability to build strong, effective relationships within all areas of the hotel.
- Good knowledge of Alberta Labour Standards, WCB and Canadian labour laws and regulations.
- Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to employee privacy.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
- A criminal background check is required for this role and is conditional to employment.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
