**REPORTS TO**: Manager Employment Services in partnership with Manager WorkBC
**Summary of Responsibilities**:
The Facilitator develops and delivers classroom instruction to WorkBC clients that results in improved employability and successful job attachment outcomes.
**Job Duties**:
- Understands the WorkBC program service policies and contractual obligations, and the role a facilitator plays in achieving program goals (i.e., KPMs and contractual outcomes).
- Maintains knowledge of the unique needs of program participants and related activities/services.
- Collects and maintains labour market information and information on labour market trends.
- Develops and delivers classroom instruction to improve adult learners’ employability.
- Maintains and monitors client progress to successful job attachment outcome through building rapport with client and documenting client activities in the client databases.
- Provides back-up for the Employment Resources Specialist in providing client intake, client needs assessment services, and the operation of the WorkBC Resource Room.
- Participates in case conferences, team, program, departmental, and all-staff meetings, in
- service training, and other training as required.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Manager.
**Requirements**:
- Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g., career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, human services, counselling, education, or human resource management) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience:
- Conducting and interpreting client needs assessments; coaching and mentoring clients; working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds; building partnerships with community agencies, employers, and other stakeholders; providing customer service and resolving issues both in-person and in a virtual service delivery system; delivering basic life skills/essential work skills programs.
- Cultural sensitivity with the ability to work and build rapport with diverse groups/clients.
- Experience adapting teaching materials to meet the needs of clients (i.e., Cross-cultural communication skills).
- Experience facilitating group-based learning for adult learners.
- Knowledge and use of MS Office suite, publishing software, database(s).
- English communication skills, other languages an asset.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Organized and able to take initiative, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills (tactful, discreet, diplomatic, patient, flexible).
**Note**:
This is a full-time (35 hours per week) salary position, starting at $50,614.20, with group benefits at six months, pension after one year, three weeks paid vacation leave in first year, paid sick and personal leave, birthday off and up to 5 days statutory holiday substitution days per year to celebrate/recognize religious, cultural, and/or personal days that are important to the employee where those days are not currently recognized as statutory holidays in BC/Canada).
