Edmonton, Canada Two Small Men With Big Hearts Moving Full time

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the processing of all payrolls, demonstrating leadership in the commitment to service excellence, while ensuring payrolls are processed timely, and accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

**This is a remote role, based out of your home.
**Responsibilities**:

- Management and processing of full cycle payroll - enter payroll data, reconcile, and manage any discrepancies.
- Management of internal Payroll System and electronic records integrity; ensuring accuracy of system formulas and tax tables etc.
- Manage and maintain detailed payroll records and documentation for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Prepare required reports, journal entries and forms, such as records of employment, WCB reporting and government remittances.
- Manage and maintain annual Income Tax filings; prepare reports, T4, T2200 and T2200S forms as per Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requirements.
- Maintain a strong relationship with CRA representatives and ensure appropriate Payroll compliance as per CRA rules, regulations and legislation.
- Management and execution of internal Payroll projects as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) through the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA)
- Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification an asset.
- 5+ years of Canadian payroll experience
- In-depth knowledge of Canada Payroll standards and procedures
- Advanced knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation
- Strong analytical, research, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong system and data flow knowledge, ability to learn and adapt to new process flows and technologies
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship and communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative with an ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Effective time management, prioritization, and multitasking
- Exposure to the construction industry, considered an asset
- Exposure to Payworks considered an asset
- Flexibility to support the ongoing client service delivery commitments and business needs
- Excellent customer service skills and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
